CONNECTING THE BILATERAL BUSINESS COMMUNITY

THE AUSTRALIA ZIMBABWE BUSINESS COUNCIL (AZBC) IS THE PREMIER BUSINESS ORGANISATION IN AUSTRALIA DEDICATED TO PROMOTING AND DEVELOPING TWO-WAY TRADE AND INVESTMENT AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION WITH ZIMBABWE.

AZBC is a membership-based, non-profit, non-governmental organization with a federal structure, characterized by strong branches in all Australian states and territories.

AZBC comprises a National Office, four Branches and around 80 companies Australia wide, with a growing number of Zimbabwean companies setting up operations in Australia.

Guided by a National Board, the AZBC National Office provides secretariat and coordination functions for the Board and AZBC state branches. It leads the AZBC’s national events, research, and thought leadership programs and engages with the federal government on all aspects of the Australia-Zimbabwe economic relationship for the benefit of its membership Australia-wide.

The National Board and Secretariat maintain close links with the Australian Government through regular contact with ministers and senior officials in multiple agencies. We actively engage with high level Zimbabwean leaders, giving sponsors the opportunity to meet with them.

The National Secretariat enjoys a close and collaborative relationship with the Zimbabwean embassy in Canberra, which provides critical support for annual events like the Australia Diaspora Engagement Forums.

Our National partners are a vital source of support for AZBC National’s activities in Australia and Zimbabwe, including its events, research and government engagement activities.

AZBC National’s activities in Australia and Zimbabwe include:

  • Australia Zimbabwe Entrepreneurs Networking Event
  • Australia Diaspora Engagement Forum
  • Thought leadership via commissioned reports on the growing importance of the Australia-Zimbabwe Trade and Investment relationship to Australian households and the Australian economy
